Community Pride in Biddeford, Maine
Craig Schroeder leads the Center's Youth Engagement System - a comprehensive, customizable strategy that interconnects education, real-world experience and community support. He brought to my attention a recent blog by the Orton Family Foundation titled, ' Visioning Process Sparks Community Pride in One Town's Youth'. He makes two points about this article, (1) the focal point of a project-focused engagement that youth and adults develop and create together and (2) the importance of remaining engaged with students after graduation so when they are thinking about starting a family or new career opportunities they have connections in their hometown for exploring options.
