The Center's transfer of wealth studies have made a difference for community foundations throughout the country. Next month, the Center is hosting a webinar to discuss the characteristics of the wealth being transferred. Look for this national webinar as well as a new issue paper in this month's newsletter. 
National Webinar
For the past decade, the Center for Rural Entrepreneurship has conducted Transfer of Wealth (TOW) studies throughout the nation. On May 22, the Center will host a National Webinar, in which Senior Associate Ahmet Binerer talks about the impact of TOW studies and how the study data can be used. Jeff Pickering, CEO of Kern (California) Community Foundation, will also be explaining the impact a transfer of wealth study had in his community. Family Status and Wealth:
Having a spouse and kids can be a great joy in life, but can it also be a financial burden? Do people living the single life generally hold more wealth? Well, the Center decided to look into it. After analyzing wealth data, we found significant differences between married households and single households. Find out more by reading our newest Issue Paper.

Philanthropy: A Deluge of Wealth:
Ahmet will be traveling to Tampa Bay, Florida later in April to talk with community foundation leaders about their transfer of wealth opportunity. Florida has been recognized as a charitable state.
 
Federal Reserve Survey:
Later this month, the Federal Reserve will ask 13,000 households to participate in their survey called "Survey of Consumer Finances." This survey gives insights into the conditions of household finances. Chosen households will receive this letter from Federal Chairman, Ben Bernanke, asking them to participate in the survey.
