Donor Identification Research--Update
Earlier this month Don Macke and I visited Bay City, MI for a retreat hosted by the Council of Michigan Foundations to present our concept on donor identification profiling.
We received valuable insights and many foundations expressed an interest in our research. We will be collaborating with the Council of Michigan Foundations and Williams Group to produce research to help community foundations advance their philanthropic efforts. I will share more as this project progresses, but in the meantime, I want to hear from you. Discover how donor identification can help your community by contacting me here.
Next Generation Donors
Michael Moody, Frey Foundation Chair for Family Foundations and Philanthropy at Johnson Center at Grand Valley State University, was also at the retreat in Bay City a few weeks ago. He presented his research on next generation donors--those born between 1964 and 2000--whose parents are already philanthropic. The purpose of the research is to shed light on "the issues and strategies that will guide major giving for decades to come." The report can be downloaded here.

Transfer of Wealth in Missouri:
Currently, the Center is working on a Transfer of Wealth (TOW) study for every county in Missouri. The USDA Rural Missouri State office understands the importance of TOW studies and mentions the Center's current study in their newsletter. To see that newsletter, click here. If you think your community would be interested in a TOW study, contact Ahmet Binerer.
