A Toolkit for Foundation Leaders TOW Book cover page

Through a joint venture with the Council of Michigan Foundations, we created a toolkit to help foundation leaders present transfer of wealth opportunity information to board and community leaders. This tough, yet important, conversation will lead to capturing and investing wealth for the future. The rapid timing of wealth and constrained public sector resources mean we need to begin these conversations...today!

This toolkit includes: an electronic copy of the Center's book: Transfer of Wealth in Rural America, Discussion Guide offering suggestions for use with foundation board members, staff and other community leaders, and a customizable PowerPoint presentation with detailed script.

Donor Profiling

The Community Foundation of Bloomington and Monroe County, in Indiana, has asked us to deeply examine the wealth holding and transfer of wealth in their county. We will be using our unique donor profiles to help the foundation and its leaders better understand their opportunities to develop legacy donors. These profiles describe wealth holding and giveback capacity from a life-cycle perspective and are based on holdings of particular assets such as closely-held family businesses, old wealth and high income specialized professionals.
