We face a fiscal cliff because the U.S. Congress continues to fund the bloated Pentagon budget. Draconian budget cuts at all levels of government are destroying quality of life in our communities, the income gap between those at the top and the rest of us is growing, and yet the Pentagon budget increases!
We must stop investing the resources of this country - our young women and men, our money, our moral integrity - on war. As we come face to face with drastically reduced state and federal funding and see its effect on our schools, our health care system, our veterans and our poor, it's time to take action; it's time to bring the war dollars home.

Pentagon spending has doubled since 1998-and that doesn't even include the $1.38 trillion in additional funds allocated to wage wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Now is the time to end the charade that we can't afford a sound society that protects people in need, the environment, and opportunities for all.
We're not broke-the money can be found in wasteful Pentagon spending and ending tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy. There's a better way: Invest in vital human services and job creation!
Contact our members of Congress today and specifically demand that they don't cut Social Security to pay for wasteful Pentagon spending!
