Greetings!
Hopefully, you have seen the CALC emails over the last few weeks highlighting our values, our work and the plans we have for 2013. We think it's important that you understand how necessary this work is. Our community would be a less tolerant, accepting and welcoming place without CALC's work over the decades. We also want you to understand who we are and what we do, because we really need you to support this work.
In 2012, we fell short of our fundraising goals. We would like to start the New Year in the black and really need your help to do so. CALC does not have large corporate sponsors, large bequests or a huge advertising budget. We rely on average workers, parents, retirees and students, each doing what they can, to help CALC in working towards a dynamic and just future.
We are doing this extra fundraising push not so we can attend fancy seminars or give CEOs raises, but to meet out modest operating expenses. We live the values we espouse; we bike to work, we buy locally, we treat our employees respectfully and we seek to find peaceful resolutions to challenges and disagreements. Your small donation can go a long way at CALC.
Most importantly though, your donation can have an impact. It can mean youth have greater access to multicultural education, politically marginalized people have greater access to power, institutions are held responsible and our voices for peace are louder than ever. Your gift can do all this!
We so appreciate those who have already made donations to CALC. We would not be the respected and stalwart organization we are today without our supporters.
