90th Anniversary Playground News
Dear Friends of St. Anastasia Catholic School,

It is with joyful gratitude and loving respect that I thank the many supporters of our 90th Anniversary Annual Campaign. We will celebrate the end of our 90th Anniversary Annual Campaign and the beginning of our Playground Construction at the Picnic for the Playground on Tuesday, April 26 from 4-6:30 p.m. under the pavilion. We plan to casually listen to music, share some food, and discuss the future plans for our playground that will be built in July.

Although we did not have one major donor to name the playground and pay for the poured rubber flooring that we had intended for the playground, we did have many donors who we will recognize on pieces of equipment, on the shade structures, and on our benches. Our current funding will allow us to purchase cypress mulch carpet that is engineered specifically for playgrounds. The total cost of the playground equipment, shade structures, and cypress flooring is $130,500.

We have currently raised $125,000 in donations from parents, parishioners, friends of St. Anastasia, grandparents, faculty, staff, and many others who have come together to make the building of a new playground this summer a reality for our children. This includes the following donors:

Corporate and Foundation Donors
$39,000 - St. Anastasia Endowment Fund - Playland Expedition Structure
$20,500 - Scott Foundation - Shade Structure
$10,000 - Bill and Carol Schmidter
$9,000 - Danelian Family

Norman M. Trabulsy Scholarship
Norman M. Trabulsy Memorial Scholarship Now Available
Deadline: May 6, 2016

The CPA firm of McAlpin, Cavalcanti & Lewis and Glynda Cavalcanti, through the St. Anastasia Catholic School Endowment Board of Directors, has created the Dr. Norman M. Trabulsy Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is worth $1,000 towards tuition in the 2016-17 school year and is open to incoming 6th-8th graders at St. Anastasia.

The application process is anonymous. To apply, candidates must submit report cards for the first three quarters of this school year with names and any identifying information deleted. Additionally, students must write a one-page essay with the theme of, "How I Best Exemplify Christian Values at My School."

This scholarship is open to ANY student entering grades 6-8 and should be submitted in a sealed envelope in person to the front office at St. Anastasia School. At that time, staff members will give the applicant an identifying number. The deadline is Friday, May 6 at 3 p.m.  No name or identifying information should appear on the report card, essay or sealed envelope as the scholarship is to be chosen anonymously by a small committee. The application will be disqualified if any identifying information is found anywhere on the report cards or essay.

Dr. Norman M. Trabulsy was a dentist in Fort Pierce and Vero Beach for almost 50 years.  Although he was a renowned dentist, he was also known in the community as a compassionate leader and was an example of Christian values.  He served in many capacities at St. Anastasia Catholic Church, particularly as a Eucharistic Minister and on various councils over the years. Additionally, he served on the St. Anastasia School Endowment Board of Directors and the School Advisory Councils of John Carroll and St. Anastasia. Despite all his achievements, Dr. Trabulsy is most remembered for his love of family, kindness to others and dedication to the St. Anastasia Catholic community. This scholarship has been created by friends of the family through the St. Anastasia School Endowment as a living legacy of this great man.
