Playground News
Work Underway on the Playground
St. Anastasia would like to thank the parishioners of Juan Diego Centro, Armadillo Dirt Works (Paparella Family) and LEB Demolition (Beckford Family) for their recent work on preparing the playground for construction. Members of Juan Diego helped cut down the trees, Armadillo Dirt Works pulled out the tree stumps and LEB Demolition hauled the debris away during Spring Break. We thank you!

90th Anniversary Playground Fundraising Update from Dr. Hoeffner
I hope that you will take a moment to read this update on the status of our 90th Anniversary Playground Campaign. We have received so many generous donations and pledges to make the dream of a new playground a reality. Below is a rendering of the playground that we plan to build this summer with your help. We are so encouraged by the $70,000 in pledges that we have received thus far. If we decide at the end of April to use a engineered cypress mulch flooring option, we would currently be $62,000 away from our goal. If we still hope to have a poured rubber surface in the playground, we will still need to raise $122,000 to meet our goal by the end of April.

We have so many families working together to make this playground a reality for next year. I was especially impressed with our faculty and staff who have rallied together and pledged $7,200 to the playground so far. One of our goals has been to get all of our community participating in prayer or in pledges to the St. Anastasia Catholic School's first Annual Giving Campaign that will celebrate our 90 years of service to this community.

We will be asking for donations to the playground at our Annual Night for the Children Auction and Dinner on April 9th. I hope that we will receive the donations listed below that we still need before we can place our order for the playground. If the playground is not ordered in April, we will definitely need time during the next school year to complete the playground project. After we finish our Auction, we are hoping to host a casual Friday afternoon PotLuck BBQ under the pavilion to answer any remaining questions that the community has about the building of the playground. The date is still to be determined.

Random Acts of Kindness Update
Random Acts of Kindness Chain
During Catholic Schools Week in early February, our students learned about Paying It Forward and Random Acts of Kindness. Throughout February and March, they created a "chain" of acts of kindness by fellow students and teachers. The chain is on display in our auditorium and it is impressive!!

What is Pay it Forward
Pay it forward is a movement that has the simple goal to spread love and kindness to the world around us.

We are completing this goal by one random act of kindness at a time. A random act of kindness is when someone does a nice gesture to brighten up the day of another person. This act could be done to a friend, family member or a complete stranger. The point of paying it forward is to do a kind deed to someone without expecting anything in return.

Paying it forward could be a gift, kind words, an act of service or pretty much any gesture that will put a smile on someones face, and ultimately, prompting the recipient of this kindness to do the same towards others.
