Internet Safety
Beginning in March, Mrs. O'Loughlin and our St. Lucie County Sheriff's Resource Officer Deputy Loupe will begin a series of talks with our students regarding Internet Safety. We encourage our parents to review the following Safety Tips that we will share in the classrooms. As adults, we can model good behavior to show children how we can all make the Internet a more positive place for us to communicate and learn. Click here for details.

St. Anastasia 90th Anniversary Playground Fundraising Underway
As you may know, St. Anastasia Catholic School is raising money to build a new 90th Anniversary Playground. Educators and parents agree that unstructured, outdoor playtime helps children grow physically, emotionally, socially and cognitively with benefits that last a lifetime. Our new playground will modernize and update the current playground to include durable and safe equipment on soft, long-lasting turf all under a shade structure.
Detailed information was sent home recently. Please see the letter from St. Anastasia parent, Mrs. Amber Rankin, and consider helping us with this initiative. If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Hoeffner at khoeffner@saintanastasiaschool.org. If you did not receive a brochure and letter, please click here for details.
Below are samples of the flooring we are hoping to create for the playground. These photos are a representation of what can be done with the new playground. |

First Grade and Kindergarten Students Participate in Retreat
First Grade and kindergarten had their first ever religious retreat on Monday. They began the day with mass and Father Yves spoke with them about the two natures of Jesus, the human nature and the divine nature. Then they separated, Kindergarten to the classroom and first grade to the parish center to learn more. Kindergarten learned about Jesus' human nature and First Grade learned about Jesus' divine nature. We came back together in the afternoon to watch a movie, "Miracle Maker," to review what we had learned about Jesus' life and ministry.
The students and teachers would like to thank all their parents for their prayers and their letters, their guest readers, Dr. Hoeffner, Mrs. O'Loughlin and Mr. Takahashi, and Mrs. Capezza and her wonderful John Carroll Catholic High School sophomore students who acted as our table leaders and role models for the day.

Sixth Grade Learns About Pregnancy Care Center
As part of their Service Learning project this year, the students in 6th grade enjoyed a presentation from the Pregnancy Care Center last week. They learned about the work of the Pregnancy Care Center which is the ministry they will support this year as part of St. Anastasia School's Service Learning Program. Students were given "Precious Feet" pins as a reminder to pray for the sanctity of life and the work of the center. We are very blessed to support this crucial ministry in the Church.
