IOWA Testing Begins Monday, March 7
Attention Parents!
Beginning Monday, March 7, all students in grades 2-8 will take the IOWA Assessments!
The IOWA Assessments are nationally standardized, norm-referenced tests. They are administered in the same way across a specified reference population (e.g. age groups, grade groups, etc.). The score interpretations are based on a comparison of the test-taker's performance to the performance of other students in the nation.
Iowa Assessments (Grades 2-8) will begin on Monday, March 7 and will continue through Friday, March 11.
It is very important that all students report to school on time during testing! In order to create a quiet atmosphere with minimal disruptions, any student who comes to school after 8:15 will not be permitted into the classroom until testing is complete. Please encourage your child to do his/her best on the test. By maintaining a typical schedule and atmosphere at home and encouraging an early bedtime and a healthy breakfast, our students will shine! If you have any questions regarding testing procedures, please feel free to contact Karen Richmond at the school at 461-2232. Gooooooo students!!!

St. Anastasia 90th Anniversary Playground Fundraising Underway
As you may know, St. Anastasia Catholic School is raising money to build a new 90th Anniversary Playground. Educators and parents agree that unstructured, outdoor playtime helps children grow physically, emotionally, socially and cognitively with benefits that last a lifetime. Our new playground will modernize and update the current playground to include durable and safe equipment on soft, long-lasting turf all under a shade structure.
Detailed information was sent home recently. Please see the letter from St. Anastasia parent, Mrs. Amber Rankin, and consider helping us with this initiative. If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Hoeffner at khoeffner@saintanastasiaschool.org. If you did not receive a brochure and letter, please click here for details.
Below are samples of the flooring we are hoping to create for the playground. These photos are a representation of what can be done with the new playground. |
