Harvest Fest 2015
Harvest Fest was a wonderful success and tons of fun for all ages! There were so many fun activities happening from the Pie Auction to Cow Chip Bingo and more! Everyone enjoyed the games, the Corn Hole tournament, the pony rides and of course, Trunk or Treat. Thank you to everyone who came out and had a great time! 












Congratulations to our Cow Chip Bingo Winner, Mrs. Jeanne Browning of Vero Beach. She purchased the winning ticket from seventh-grader Richie Leffew.


Thank you to our volunteers who helped before, during and after Harvest Fest. We couldn't have done it without you! A special Thank You to See the Difference Pressure Cleaning for coming out on Monday morning to clean up the Cow Chip Bingo area!

As St. Anastasia Catholic School celebrates its 90th Anniversary, we would like to invite prospective parents, grandparents and students to come experience what makes our school exceptional! St. Anastasia Catholic School provides an engaging and challenging curruculum with an emphasis on Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts and Mathmatics (STREAM). Building Homes for Heroes

Attention parents: There will be a gift wrapping party for Santa's Christmas Corner on Saturday, November 14 from 9 a.m. until noon at the Seacoast Self Storage located at 2448 U.S. 1, Fort Pierce, FL 34946. This is a fun way to get some volunteer hours on a weekend!

Fall Sports Pep Rally
On Wednesday, we celebrated our Fall Sports with a Pep Rally. Everyone enjoyed the Royal Ram Symphonic Band, the Rams Cheerleaders, the Rams Drum Line and of course, the Faculty vs. Students volleyball game!

Veterans Day Celebration

All Veterans and their families are invited to a special Veterans Day Mass  and gathering on Wednesday, November 11th at the 8:15 a.m. Mass. After Mass and a special blessing, all are invited to St. Anastasia School for a performance by our award winning band, a light breakfast and fellowship. Please help spread the word!

First, Second and Third Grade News
Our school Resource Officer, Deputy Loupe, spoke to the students in first through third grade this week about Halloween safety. She also passed out reflective bags and lights to keep them safe on Halloween night.



Fourth Grade News

The fourth grade Big Apple Pizza Night is Wednesday, Nov. 11 from 4-9 p.m. The proceeds from this evening help offset the cost of the field trip to St. Augustine.
Fifth Grade News
As 5th grade begins its STREAM lesson on the weather, the students took some time Friday afternoon to lay out on the soccer field to watch the clouds for inspiration. They wrote poems about clouds and enjoyed the breezy day.

Eighth Grade News
ATTENTION PARENTS: The 8th Grade Parent Mass is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 2 at 8:15 a.m. at St. Anastasia Church. 

One more reminder: the 8th grade retreat is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 23.
Middle School News
After our STREAM Labs dedication, we commissioned local artist Anita Prentice to create two mosaics for the labs. Each middle school student submitted unique sketches and drawings as ideas for the mosaics. After Monday's morning mass, these students were acknowledged for their submissions. Two students, eighth graders Colton Hamilton and Lillyana Bienz, were awarded $25 each for their winning creations. Ms. Prentice will use their sketches as the basis for her mosaics for the STREAM Labs. Way to go!




Sports News

Varsity Boys & Girls Basketball Tryouts begin on Monday, Nov. 2 from 3:15-5 p.m.

Service Learning News
Our third graders are working with Cross Catholic Outreach for their Service Learning project this year. They will be collecting "Boxes of Joy" for children in Guatemala during October 16-November 6. On Nov. 6th, they will have a packing party where they will sort and package the boxes to be delivered. If you would like to help our third graders by filling a box or donating to their efforts, please contact Mrs. Kelly Lalicon at the8lalicons@ymail.com. One Service Learning Project we will participate in school wide and with the Church is the Thanksgiving Food Drive. The drive begins on Monday, November 2 and runs through November 18. Each grade is responsible for a specific food items, however any and all donations are appreciated. Please see the flyer by clicking here

Salary is $11 per hour
Applicants must have at least a two year college degree. It is preferred that some of the classes taken are in the area of Elementary Education.

Salary is $9 per hour.
Applicants must have at least a high school diploma. Completion of some college classes is preferred.

In place of all the regular scheduled Masses at St. Anastasia Church, Juan Diego Center, and the Notre Dame Catholic Mission, on Sunday, November 22nd, our community of families and friends will celebrate one Mass together.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at St. Anastasia Church

8:00 a.m. 
Procession

10:00 a.m. 
The Divine Liturgy (Mass), on the St. Anastasia School Pavilion and Soccer Field

What will I need?
Seating will be available under the pavilion or bring your chairs and blankets for seating on the soccer field. Food will be available for purchase after Mass. Please join us after Mass for the Christ The King Soccer Tournament from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Why?
To publicly celebrate Christ as Our King & Savior of the World.

Please Note: The Saturday Vigil Mass at 4:00 p.m. on November 21st will be celebrated as normal.

Local Knights of Columbus Council 15429 to Sponsor Youth Soccer Challenge Competition
 
All boys and Girls aged 9-14 are invited to participate in the local level of competition for the 2015 Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge. The competition will be held Saturday, Nov. 7th 2015 from 9:30-Noon at St. Anastasia Soccer Field.
 
The Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge is sponsored annually with winners progressing through local, district and state competitions. International champions are announced by the K of C international headquarters in New Haven, CT, based on soccer from the state-level competitions. All boys and girls 9 to 14-year-old are eligible to participate and will compete in their respective age divisions. All contestants on the local level are recognized for their participation in the event. Participants are required to furnish proof of age and written parental consent.
 
Parent signature entry forms will be available on site starting at 9:15 a.m. Contact Council 155429, Coach Picchiarini at 772-284-3038.
 
The Knights of Columbus is an International Catholic family fraternal service organization with 1.8 million members in over 15,000 local councils. Last year Knights donated 70 million volunteer hours and 170 million to charitable and benevolent causes, sponsoring projects to benefit their Church, communities, councils, Culture of Life, Families and youth.

Anastasia's Attic
St. Anastasia Catholic School's Anastasia's Attic Thrift Shop directly benefits our school. Your donations are so important to us. Please call for a pick-up of large items. Pick-up days are Monday, Wednesday and Saturdays. 772-467-1444. The drop-off box at school has moved a little to the west of the old location, but is still available for you! You may drop off items there or at the shop located at 3901 Okeechobee Road, across from Moonswiners (formerly Dale's Bar-B-Q).
 
Shop hours are: 
Monday - Friday - 9 a.m.-5 p.m. 
Saturday - 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Closed on Sundays
