Kindergarten-Fifth Grade Enrichment
| We are very excited to offer Enrichment Clusters in grade K-5 this year! Enrichment Clusters are specially designated time blocks during the school day in which students and teachers who share a common interest come together to produce a product, performance, or targeted service based on that common interest. We have set aside time each week for these Enrichment Clusters and they begin this week! Students will have the opportunity to participate in four, eight-week clusters.
Here are some of the amazing options:
- Sherlock Holmes Junior - Making History and Solving a Mystery!?!

- Reduce, Recycle and Reuse!
- Think Before You Move!
- Lights, Camera, ACTION!
- Don't Try This at Home...
- Celebrations Around the World!

Kindergarten News
| Our time-honored tradition of the Guardian Angels kicked off in kindergarten last week. Seventh graders are paired up with kindergarten students and eighth graders are paired up with first graders. They attend masses together, enjoy reading time and visit with each other throughout the year. It's a wonderful way for our older students to be good role models to our younger ones while building a friendship.

First Grade News
|
Mrs. Bush's first grade class took a trip to the new STREAM Center. They wanted to see the new lab and while they were there, they learned the rules and procedures, heard a story called Froggy's STREAM Adventure to learn what STREAM means and how they will do activities.

|
Second Grade News
| Last week ended with Pancakes and a movie in second grade. Their summer reading book was Nate the Great Goes Undercover and in the story, Nate liked to feed his dog, Sludge, pancakes. It was a fun treat to end the first week of school! We hear the students "aced" their summer reading tests, too!
  |
Third Grade News
| Last week, our third graders participated in an engineering project where teams built Puff Machines made only from a small list of materials. They brought their machines to the STREAM lab and raced. The winners were determined by the fewest "puffs" it took to cross the finish line.
  |
Fifth Grade News
| Our fifth-graders visited the Learning Nook in the Media Center this week as they download their first learning apps on their devices. This is the first year that fifth grade has had their own devices and the students and teachers are excited!
|
Eighth Grade News
| Our eighth graders read The War Between the Classes by G. Miklowitz this summer. Last week, they began "The COLOR Game" based on the novel. The teacher in the novel "arranges" for students to be a part of a social experiment. They must select colors at "random" and will feel the treatment they receive from others due to their social status. It is an eye-opening few days for these students!
