Dear Generation J Parents,

As this school year closes, another opens - or at least registration does! This email contains the information and the link that you need to register your children for the 2014-2015 school year at Generation J. Click the link below to access the online school registration forms. Feel free to use the form to register up to five children for Generation J. You can pay either by check or credit card; we are happy to announce that religious school fees will not increase this year! For your convenience, a fee schedule is included at the bottom of this letter.

When filling out the registration forms, please take the time to share with us information about your children as learners, as well as any medical information that might affect their experiences here at Generation J. This is critical to help us make religious school the best possible experience for each of our students, so we appreciate all the information you share, and we pledge to only share that information with staff as is necessary. Please know that we value your family's privacy, and feel free to contact us if you have any concerns.

For incoming 4^th-7^th grade students, weekday Hebrew is an integral part of their Generation J experience, so please be sure to fill out your first and second choices for Hebrew instruction time. Hebrew is optional for 3^rd graders, as is a second weekday of Hebrew. If you are interested in a second day of Hebrew or you have multiple students to register for Hebrew, please contact us in the office so that we can be sure to accommodate your family's needs.

For incoming 8^th -12^th grade students, we have a number of opportunities available. We applaud their decision to continue to be an active young member at GRS, and we know they will have a great time. Families of post B'nai Mitzvah students should also use this form to register, and will receive a separate email soon about our new Confirmation Academy, as well as opportunities to be one of our madrichim (classroom aides) or join our Youth Group.

For pre-K students, our monthly Holiday Happening program will continue once per month. Tentative dates will be released soon.

Religious School Fees

Please note: In order to register your child(ren) for kindergarten through high school, you must be a GRS member. (The GRS Young Family Intiative provides an 80% discount on membership for families with at least one adult 40 or younger or at least one child in third grade or below. See the Young Family Initiative description for details.).  GRS  membership is not required to register your child(ren) for the pre-k program.

General Information

• Generation J begins on September 14 this fall. Our last day will be May 17. A complete calendar is coming soon.
• Sunday classes will continue to be held from 9:30 to 11:30 A.M. at the Stanwich School. Breakfast will still be optional at 9:00 A.M.
• B'nai Shir will still take place after class on Sundays.
• An optional choir for the older students will practice during school hours, as an elective.
• Both Junior and Senior Youth Group will be meeting more often this year! There is a small fee for Senior Youth Group. Junior Youth group is free for all registered students.
• As always, we are continuing to improve our generation J experience. More information will be available online about classes and teachers before the start of the year.
