ACTORS WANTED

Dear Friends,

In less than two months from today we will be celebrating the beloved festival of Purim. For anyone who has ever celebrated the holiday GRS style, we know that Purim would not be complete without a spirited Purim schpiel - a skit of Megilat Esther (the story of Purim found in the Scroll of Esther). However, a schpiel needs actors! At this early juncture, I turn to all interested in being a part of our light-hearted production. To allay concerns, there will be no need for memorization of lines, as narrators will be on hand for those who wish not to speak.  We will not need much rehearsal time for us to present a short, entertaining re-enactment of the Purim story.  Those interested, please contact Laura.

Looking forward to our working together!

 Rabbi Andy

Message from the Cantor

Sabrina in Color

Dear Friends:

As we start a new secular year, I would like to add to our musical programs. In addition to our K-4th grade choir, B'nai Shir, I would like to start a 5th-9th grade choir if interest permits.

Please contact me if you would like more information.

Our GRS House Band is always looking for new members. If you are a teenager or adult looking to participate musically in our services, I would be happy to speak with you about it.

Looking forward to sharing more wonderful musical experiences with you.

B'Shalom,

Cantor Sabrina

Sunday, January 26, 2014, 3-4:30 pm
YWCA of Greenwich

On Sunday, January 26th from 3-4:30 pm, GRS is excited to join with UJA/JCC of Greenwich to bring Mainstages - a children's theatre group specialized in the movement of Performance Judaism - to Greenwich for an interactive performance of a PJ Library classic - Estie the Mensch. Teaching artists use puppetry, storytelling, and performance to bring high quality Jewish literature to life. Participants create wacky characters, explore their bodies, and get in costume to re-enact tales from Jewish Folklore. The result is an energetic, fast-paced connection to the values of our Jewish stories. $12 per person or $50 per family includes light dinner. Best for ages 3 and up. For more information, contact Tracy Daniels at tracy@ujafedgreenwich.org
