at The Stanwich School
(257 Stanwich Road, Greenwich, CT)

An open house and information session will be held on September 22, the first day of classes for the 2013-14 Generation J school year, beginning with a buffet breakfast at 9am.

Parents and parents of prospective students are invited to meet with Rabbi Sklarz and 2013-2014 Educational Director, Eliana Hall, to discuss our exciting new program! To register, or for questions, please call 203-629-0018 or email Eliana Hall at eliana@grs.org.

Students gather on Sunday mornings, with an additional midweek meeting for supplemental Hebrew instruction. Instead of the traditional classroom model, Generation J offers experiential learning with a thematic approach based on Jewish values, including:

  • Active, project-based learning
  • A collaborative and social environment
  • The exploration of Jewish ethics
  • Individualized, flexible Hebrew instruction
  • Judaic and Hebrew instruction prepares children for a meaningful B'nai Mitzvah.
  • Teens cooperatively prepare a beautiful Shavuot Confirmation service.

Flexible Hebrew Instruction: Private Hebrew instruction is offered on the weekday afternoon of your choice. Students in grades 4-7 (optional for third graders) come to the GRS office for 30 minutes of individual instruction with a Hebrew specialist.  Utilizing the acclaimed Mitkadem program, created by the URJ (Union for Reform Judaism), each child receives personally tailored instruction. Students prepare for their Bar/Bat Mitzvah by learning Hebrew reading and prayer, as well as theological concepts, vocabulary, and grammar.

Free to member families for kindergarten through 3rd grade.   Ask about special reduced cost membership for young families.
