A Message from Rabbi Sklarz
|
|

Bless You for Your Blessings of Spiritual Medicine
Dear Friends,
As you know, the summer brought an unexpected turn of events in our lives.
Only days after our kids left for camp (Susan and I had expected a quiet summer to ourselves), a fluke event wound me in the hospital for nearly two weeks, followed by two more weeks with out-patient treatment. With thanks to God, the miracles of modern medicine and skilled physicians, I am well on the road of healing and anticipate a complete recovery by the High Holidays.
I would be remiss, however, if I did not make mention of the spiritual medicine that was sent my way by so many dear friends. How much it meant to us to receive the kindness shared by so many in our congregational family during this challenging time with delicious meals, cards, gifts, calls and e-mails and offerings of all sorts. While medicines bring healing to the body, the warmth and compassion extended by loving friends, is indeed "chicken soup for the soul."
With much gratitude and love,
Rabbi Andy
