A City of Heroes Waldo Canyon Fire Assistance Fund
| In June of 2012, the El Pomar Foundation generously initiated and then selected Pikes Peak United Way to administer the Waldo Canyon Fire Assistance Fund.
Thanks to the generosity of over 3,700 donors from 42 states and two countries, more than $933,000 has been raised and is currently being awarded to organizations directly serving El Paso and Teller County residents impacted by the fire.

A Night of Celebration Leaders in Giving Annual Reception
| Over 275 local philanthropists, members of the Tocqueville and Summit Societies, convened for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres in early October at the scenic Garden of the Gods Club for the annual Leaders in Giving reception.
Emcees Jake Martens (2011-2012 Leaders in Giving co-chair along with Harry Henstschel) and Kevin Patterson (Tocqueville Society co-chair with Gayle Beshears) announced that $2.6 million, or 46% of last year's $5.6 million campaign, was contributed by Leaders in Giving!

2-1-1 Information and Referral In the Community
| Winter is just around the corner and with that, many in our community will have difficulty keeping up with their heating bills. Again this year, the Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP) will be made available from November 1, 2012 through April 30, 2013.

21,000 Lives Changed
Make a Difference Month
| Thank you for participating in the first ever Make A Difference Month Pack-a-Cart project!
We're proud to announce that together, we will impact over 21,000 children's lives by providing them with resources such as crayons, colored pencils, pipe cleaners and more that will help enrich their lives by opening their minds and imaginations to extraordinary possibilities through art.
Thank you to all who donated supplies, volunteered at collection sites and advocated on behalf of local businesses that donated space, supplies, money, and gift cards!
Only by acting as one can we solve what ails us all.
