300 For Easter

Do you know that one of the largest churches in the 1800's was in London England? The pastor was Charles Spurgeon. Each Sunday they had 10,000 people for worship, but what is most interesting to me is that 1000 people were in the basement praying for those in the service. If you were to ask him, Spurgeon would say, "The power for his services came from God and prayers of the people willing to sacrificially prayer for others."

As you know people will be attending our Easter Services this year who do not know Christ or do not have a regular church home. Because we see these services as vital we have a goal to get 300 people to pray for those services!

What could "we" accomplish together in Prayer? Would you consider being one of those people to attend an Easter Service and then pray during one of the services for those who will be attending who don't yet know Christ?

School of Prayer:

Inspires Next Steps In Prayer

We received lots of positive responses from our School of Prayer.  This time we had our Campus Prayer Leaders do some of the teaching.  So we weren't sure how that would go because we have had some big name people in recently like Mark Batterson and Andrew from Africa.  But we were pleasantly surprised how well everyone responded to our leaders.  It just goes to show that prayer is carried by some wonderful servant leaders.

We also had several nearby churches that came learn from the teaching and to learn how to do a school of prayer.  We are so thankful to have some part in advancing the Kingdom.

What is the best kind of Prayer?

I think I know the answer.  It is what I call "organic" prayer.  This is prayer that starts up just because people have a desire to pray and not because there is a program in place.  It is simply organic.  We are beginning to see that happen at Central.

We heard the story of two ladies who are committed to praying each Thursday on the campus.  They walk throughout the facilities at Central and pray for the work that is being done on the campus before their Bible study.

The Student Ministry has been watching portions of the Prayer Conference DVD's and then prayer walking the Central campus and the Campo Verde High School campus across the street.  This is a group of Jr. High School girls who had a great time praying on the campus for Central and God's blessing on the work.

National Day Of Prayer:

One Voice United In Prayer

Jesus once said "where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them" (Matthew 18:20).

Imagine what would happen if "millions" gathered together across America to pray in Jesus name.  What kind of transformation would occur as they gather together and humble themselves before Him to pray?

Every year, the National Day of Prayer illustrates just that as God's people unite in prayer across the United States to call upon God to turn us from our wicked ways and turn this nation back to Him.  Imagine how it would glorify His Name with millions in a mighty circle of prayer to call upon God to penetrate and destroy every stronghold in this nation as well as in us.

It was by faith that the Israelites walked in circles around the city for seven days and with a united voice shouted until the walls of Jericho came crumbling down.

Come gather with millions of others during the National Day of Prayer on May 1st and with one voice unite together in prayer.
