School of Prayer Speaker To Teach Strategic Prayer
For those of you who long to pray more powerfully, seeing more answers to prayer, this month's School of Prayer is one you don't want to miss!
Our speaker, Andrew D., is coming to speak at Central's School of Prayer in Gilbert Sunday, Sept. 22, from the Middle East to teach us what he has been training global field workers in that part of the world to do for power in their prayers and ministries. In fact, Andrew has become the "gold standard" for strategic prayer today.
The principles he employs in this type of praying are embodied in the Strategic Prayer Equipping Group (SPEG), a team of people who Andrew has taught to pray in a specific and very effective way. So far, SPEG has not been utilized outside of the Middle East.
Both Central's Prayer Team and Andrew are excited to bring this powerful prayer strategy for the first time here to the U.S.
Paul Covert, Prayer Pastor, said he had the privilege of meeting Andrew months ago at a wedding, and they immediately started talking about prayer. When he asked Andrew if he would like to see SPEG take off in an American church or arena, Andrew was excited about the prospect.
Sign up now for this free opportunity to learn about strategic prayer that will move you into Kingdom-sized praying instead of ho-hum, day to day wandering in your prayers about the latest hurt or need, not necessarily the most important issues to be covered.
Learn how to pray; learn how to listen for God's instructions; anticipate His answers.
Sign up today at http://www.centralaz.com/Arena/default.aspx?page=4222&eventId=8192 .
This event is free, but a love offering is taken for the speaker.

Get ready for the Elevate Prayer Conference!
Mark Batterson returns to Central's Elevate Prayer Conference stage Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, having written another best seller and powerful teaching on prayer, "The Circle Maker."
Pastor of multi-campus National Community Church in Washington, D.C., Batterson first came to us in 2011 after he had written another best-seller, "In a Pit With a Lion On a Snowy Day."
Save the February date now and plan to be inspired in your strategy, persistence, and faith in prayer as Batterson recounts for us the story of Honi the Circle Maker. At a time of desperate need for water in a dry and sun-parched land, Honi drew a circle in the sand and would not budge from it until God answered his prayer for rain. And God did.
This is not just the stuff of legend, however, as Batterson will teach us. He has drawn circles around his family and his church, and his congregation members have circled needs and hopes, and God has answered.
Come and learn the art of drawing circles in prayer. Invite friends who might have questions about prayer or who are dealing with issues they don't even know how to pray about any longer.

UpTeam Praise!
The UpTeam is a team of believers who are committed to praying for the needs of our staff and global workers. This is something we've been doing for years. Nathan Stang, the Director over the ministry for 4th to 6th graders at Central, recently wrote Paul with some praise about UpTeam we'd like to share with you, especially those of you who pray through the UpTeam. You are appreciated:
"Paul,
I just wanted to send a quick thank you to you and your team that prays over all of our staff requests each month. This is the first church I've served at in which there is someone consistently praying over my family and my ministry each month, and it had been such a blessing. God continues to surprise me with how he provides, and the prayer which I am receiving is a huge part of that. It is exciting for me to read over my up team requests from past months and see how God has answered prayers. This has helped me and my family grow so much the past year and we are grateful to you and your prayer team for it!
Thank you for giving us such a wonderful gift!"

A Prayer In the Face of a Potential School Shooting!
It's "back to school" time and this story, posted at news.yahoo.com, makes it clear that students and school staff are continually in need of prayers for protection. When a mentally-ill young man with an assault rifle managed to gain entry into a secured school, one of the first responders was a bookkeeper; fortunately, she was fully armed with great faith and wisdom. She began praying and speaking with the young man, reassuring him that life was worth living. Read about it and watch an ABC news interview. Read another article on this topic at wptv.com.

Drive-thru Prayer Making a Big Difference in Brazil
In Brazil, evangelical Christianity is making incredible inroads. Much of the growth is attributed to innovations such as drive-thru prayer and massive outreach fairs which reach many who live on the fringe of society.
