Trusting God Class Continues to Spread the Word about

Life Coaching at Central

by Annie Covert

With a growing waiting list of people wanting to be discipled through the Prayer Ministry's Life Coaching program, Paul and I thought that we could give the women that had participated in the Called to Obedience (CTO) class something to work on as they were waiting for a life coach.

"Trusting God Even When Life Hurts" by Jerry Bridges is a great study that explores the "sovereignty" of God and a good continuation of the foundation laid by the CTO class on this very subject. If we can't trust God with everything that comes into our lives, how can we trust Him with anything at all?

The group of ten women is diving right into this study of getting to know God and how trustworthy He is in what is truly an ongoing life-long journey. They are studying the scriptures where God reveals His character to us and shows us how we can move from fear to faith in God who is perfect in love, wisdom, and power. These women have already rolled up their sleeves, and are well underway in openness, accountability, and seeking Him out. May God do a mighty work in each of us throughout this study!

UP Team Keeps Those Prayers Coming

Did you know that every month the UP Team prays over prayer requests from pastors, elders, staff leaders, and global workers from Central? The "UP" in UP Team stands for "uninterrupted prayer." This team is made up of a group of faithful believers who pray diligently for all the above and Central ministries. Their commitment to lift these prayers up every month has created a powerful level of intercession, and the Lord is moving mightily in this ministry, impacting all those submitting prayer requests.

Our dedicated team members pray one hour a week at specific time slots. These slots for prayer are scheduled on a weekly calendar and anyone can join and pray by taking one hour as their own. All team members pledge complete confidentiality over these prayers.

The Prayer Ministry staff compiles and posts UP Team prayer requests online every month where UP Team members can view them easily.

To become a member of the UPTeam, or for further information, please contact Sharon Bostic, who leads this ministry, at Sbostic3@cox.net , or click on this link: http://www.centralaz.com/Arena/Default.aspx?page=5291 .

50 YEARS OF BATTLE OVER PRAYER

For 50 years, there has been some furious fighting within our nation's courts regarding prayer, where it takes place, and in whose name it can be said.  This perpetual conflict makes it clear that a Supreme Court ruling is certainly not the end of a matter.  As the war rages on, Christian "prayer warriors" continue to come before the Lord regarding prayer and the interpretation of "separation of church and state."  Read more in an article at tv.msnbc.com.
