24-7 LIVE and VIRTUAL, 2012
By Paul Covert
One of the reasons I like 24-7 so much is because it is soooo peaceful. It is God and me and that is all. Time like this is hard to come by.
 |
This photo was taken from one of the sunset evenings at last year's 24-7 on the Gilbert campus. Very still and peaceful!
|
Another reason I like the 24-7, is that it is interactional. You visit a station and there is something you are requested to do or think through. This helps me pray and connect with God.
 |
In this station, we were invited to share our greatest struggle, offering it to be touched by God's light so that He could make it beautiful and turn it for good. Then we were to pray through it. As you can see, we had no shortage of material.
|
I also like how much fun each station is, offering creative insights on Scripture and innovative directions for prayer!
The LIVE 24-7 will be available in the Mesa Chapel from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, and from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. all other days through Friday, Nov. 9. Each participant is to commit to be there for one hour. To reserve space for your hour, go to this link for registration: Sign Up Here to go to LIVE 24-7. New this year will be a VIRTUAL 24-7 online. The advantage to this version of the 24-7 is that you can participate and pray from home or anywhere in the world. You may want to give this a try also. Here is the link for registering for the VIRTUAL 24-7 Don't miss your chance to be a part of this, and experience alone time with our awesome God in prayer. |

Creativity at Thanks-Giving! by Cathy Cryer Much to my horror, not just one media source last Thanksgiving pointed me to not give thanks at all. "Be creative," they suggested. "Do something new this year," they wrote, explaining activities that went far afield of giving thanks. Creatively, for sure, they suggested other activities for the day which nationally has been set aside to give thanks to God our Provider. They pointedly suggested that is old hat and we should not do that at all! So, this year, THIS one means of media, our Prayer Newsletter, will suggest we all give thanks during our Thanksgiving celebrations and each day of our lives leading up to and following them. Glendale Prayer Room
At Central Christian Church we have six core values listed on our Web site. They are prayer, all people, the Bible, authenticity, involvement, and future generations. When you check out the Central Web site, you will find prayer listed first. As a community of believers, we seek God's guidance and direction through prayer in all that we do as a church and in all aspects of our daily lives.
It is only fitting that a room be designated for the primary task of the church-prayer. At the Glendale Campus, we are proud to have designated one of the rooms in our office area as our Prayer Room.
The Prayer Room serves our people in at least three ways:
First, it is a place to worship and pray to God.
Second, it is a center of intercessory prayer where people "stand in the gap" on behalf of the Body of Christ.
And, third, the Prayer Room includes outwardly directed prayer that is evangelistic and community-centered.
When you visit the Glendale campus, please stop at the Prayer Room and spend some quiet time with God.

CHRISTIANS DETAINED DURING PRAYER MEETING
In Iran seven Christians were detained while attending their prayer meeting. Read about it in an article at Christianitytoday.com. Stories like this one should cause us to greatly appreciate and act upon the freedom of religion that we have in this country. Hopefully these types of stories will inspire us to pray for those who are relentlessly persecuted for their faith in Jesus. Remember to ask the Lord to give them the strength they need to stand firm.

PRAYER TO SAVE AN ORCHESTRA
Christianity has had profound influence on classical music. Many of the great composers were committed Christians, and Christianity was the central theme of some of their masterpieces. Sadly, orchestras all over the world are suffering major set-backs as financial donations and ticket sales decrease during hard economic times. When the Detroit Symphony became financially strapped, some of the orchestra's Christian musicians started a Website asking people to pray. Have their prayers been answered? TRADEMARK SOUGHT FOR TEBOWING POSE
Sounds like a purely commercial move on TEBOW'S part-however don't be too quick to judge. According to Tebow's attorney, "Inevitably, in today's commercial arena of sports marketing, consumers will be led to believe that at a minimum, Tim Tebow or the Tim Tebow Foundation has approved of all of the third-party applicant's goods in the context of licensing; or, what is even more damaging, that Tim Tebow is actually connected with or associated with the goods of the cited applicants when he is not."
