Wyatt Farms Newsletter
Greetings!

Merry Christmas!  The month of November was filled with so much reflecting on what we are truly thankful for.  And as December arrives, I realize that every month when I write this little note to all of you, I want to start with 'its a beautiful time of year'.  I guess, we are blessed to live in South Carolina where every season is so different from the last and just as beautiful.  I hope you are enjoying our changing landscape as well.
I wish all of you a very Merry Christmas.  May you and yours have a happy and healthy Holiday season.

Happy Gardening,

Bess

December Gardening

Tis the season to clean up.  To keep your garden looking good in the winter months, cut back dormant perennials, deadhead annuals, and rake those leaves.  This will keep your home looking fresh even during the coldest days.

Also, don't forget to dress up your yard for those Christmas guests, both expected and unexpected.  Simple ways to make sure your home looks worthy enough to grace the pages of Southern Living is to...

1.  Plant Flowers - this boost of color and bloom during the darker days of winter are sure to welcome any guest.  If you don't have a spot for an annual bed, plant pots with pansies and snaps and place them by your front door.

2.  Hang a wreath!!  Fresh or artificial - it really doesn't matter.  A wreath on the windows or even just the front door is a festive way to welcome the season.

3.  White Lights - There is nothing more beautiful than white lights at Christmas.  Your lights don't have to challenge Connie Maxwell's display, even just a lit Christmas Tree in the window adds to the wonder of the season.   Twinkling lights in garland can also turn out beautiful or you can wrap a tree or two in the yard.  However,  if not done correctly your light show may resemble the Griswolds'.  For a classic, traditional look use non blinking, white lights wrapped uniformly.
