Foyers 2013 Kickoff Dinner

The Foyers Groups 2013 Kickoff Dinner is being hosted by Paul and Eileen Kelley at their home on Sunday evening, January 20 starting at 5:OOpm.   It is hoped that everyone currently involved in the Foyers Groups program will attend. However, we extend a special invitation any one who thinks they might be interested in becoming involved with the program during the next three-month cycle or at a later time.   This dinner will offer a good opportunity see if Foyers is for you.

Paul and Eileen will provide the meat dish (baked ham).   Those attending will bring their choice of appetizer, salad, vegetable or side dish, soft drinks or tea, or desert. Water and coffee will be provided. You are welcome to bring wine or beer if you choose to do so.   To assist in coordinating the dinner dishes, please telephone or email Paul or Eileen advising them of what you would like to bring. We will keep a master list and make suggestions as necessary to coordinate a good balance of the dishes being provided.

We will be handing out new Foyers Group assignments for the first 2013 session at the party. We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at the dinner party.

Wednesday Healing Service

On Wednesday evenings, Father Paul leads a worship service along with anointing at 5:30 pm in Titus House.  Anointing is a powerful type of prayer.

The basic meaning of the Bible word "anoint" is "to pour on, smear all over or rub into."  In the Old Testament, someone who was anointed by God for special service to God had oil poured or smeared on him.

You are invited to join us when we resume meeting on January 16, 2013.

All the women of the church are invited to attend our next meeting and luncheon on January 13th at 12:00 pm in Hensler Hall.  Our guest will be The Reverend Mary Wetzel from the Church of the Common Ground.  Church of the Common Ground seeks to be a pastoral and sacramental presence to those without permanent housing.  Church of the Common Grounds provides support for the spiritual needs of Atlanta's unhoused people.  The church strives to build relationships with those who live on the margins by being a consistent presence on the streets and by creating a worshipful space for housed and unhoused people
