39 S. El Molino Ave.

The public is invited to join Pasadena Mayor Bill Bogaard, City Councilmembers and other civic and business leaders for the annual Mayor's State of the City event.

This will be Mayor Bogaard's final State of the City address, capping nearly 16 years of service as Pasadena's first directly elected mayor. Mayor Bogaard retires from service as Pasadena's top elected official later this year.

This year's State of the City theme of "Rediscover Pasadena" will help highlight some "Hidden Gems" in the City. The Making of Personal Theory: Mysticism and Metaphysics in the Work of Sara Kathryn Arledge, Chris Irvin, and Jim Shaw

JAN 18 - MAR 22 ~ On View

The Making of Personal Theory: Mysticism and Metaphysics in the Work of Sara Kathryn Arledge, Charles Irvin, and Jim Shaw is a three-person exhibition that takes notions of "the mystical" as an entry point to consider daily encounters that are marked with eccentricity, the surreal, and a dream-like passage of time. Representations of mystical or spiritual alternatives to normative culture suggest that the common is oftentimes complex and culture oftentimes askew, and that subjective, "alternative" normals are equally legitimate.

Joel Glassman: Humdrum Poetry

JAN 18 - MAR 22 ~ On View

The Armory presents a series of unrealized, never-before shown, and groundbreaking early works (produced from 1971 through 1989) examining Glassman's musings with the mundane. Through repetition and simple gestures, he reveals and isolates moments in time that often go unnoticed, and creates visual poetry with his chosen materials.

Expanding on an expansive subject, Part 4: Liat Yossifer, Gesture (as) Consequence

JAN 18 - FEB 22 ~ On View

In this exhibition, Yossifor's time-based painting process converges with the quintessential time-based medium, wet cement. The more the material moves, the faster it dries; each subsequent motion a consequence of the gesture that came before.
