HIS HAND
OF FAVOR
"It was not by their sword
that they won the land,
nor did their arm bring them
victory;
it was Your right hand,
Your arm, and
the light of Your face,
for You loved them."

Day 77

Harvest of Righteousness
____________________________________

Dear Praying Friend,

Thank you for your commitment to pray these past 77 days.  Your dedication to join together with hundreds of other faithful prayer warriors these past few months has been a source of great encouragement  personally, and a strengthening of the Body of Christ, corporately.  I pray these past few months have only renewed our resolve to the importance of continuous, fervent prayer.  Typing the number 77 on this prayer email was a bittersweet reminder of the verse the Lord led me to in Daniel 9:24, when we first began our prayer journey together:  "Seventy 'sevens' are decreed for your people...to bring in everlasting righteousness...."  This call was for all of God's children to respond with greater fervency to deeper communion with the Lord, in His Word and in prayer, and greater unity within the Body of Christ, that we might raise up God's holy standard of righteousness as we prepare the way of the Lord and continue the work of building His Kingdom. May we remain in prayer for the Lord to move in the hearts of men who will lead us down the path of holiness and into the Presence of the Lord - which we so desperately need in the time we are living.  May God be our guide in 2013!

"Then the land will yield its harvest,
and God, our God, will bless us"
(Psalm 67:7)

As we meditate on Psalm 85:12-13 today, we are reminded of David's prayer in Psalm 27:13-14, that he would indeed see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living - that God's good plans would be revealed in His time.  We are also reminded of the life of John the Baptist who was a light, for a short time, to prepare the way of the Lord (reference John 1:1-36).  Today we are called to be watchful and ready, ever-diligent about being about our Heavenly Father's business and preparing the way for His return by being obedient, faithful, and dependent upon Him as we share the good news of His salvation and radiate His light to the world.  Righteousness will lead the way and the harvest will come!

"Maintain justice and do what is right,
for My salvation is close at hand
and My righteousness will soon be revealed."
(Isaiah 56:1)

Dear Heavenly Father, we praise You for this time together.  We come to You, desiring, not only to lay our requests at Your feet, but, also, simply to enjoy the pleasure of Your company and to spend time with You, worshiping You, basking in Your presence, growing in the knowledge of You, and experiencing Your love.  We are so blessed to worship the One, true living God, who is intimate, personal, and loving to all He has made.  Lord, these past 77 days have shown us how important it is to remain faithful in prayer.  You have commanded us, 'if my people will humble themselves and pray' that You will bring healing and deliverance.  You have shown us that You hold all things in Your mighty hands and nothing is out of Your control; however You desire for each of us to release our grasp on the things we hold dear, and our need for control, and, instead, submit all things to Your care.  When we neglect seeking You in prayer first we leave You out of the work, and our efforts are futile. Lord, Your work can only be accomplished if You are in it, so we come to You surrendering to Your will and trusting that You will bring all things to completion in Your perfect timing. Ours eyes are upon You! We, like David, will wait upon You. We believe a harvest of righteousness is coming; it will not be because of anything we have done, but because of Your great love and the willingness of Your children to trust in You and remain faithful to Your commands.  Give us obedient hearts, Lord.  Move Your children to respond to Your call to return to holy, righteous, and upright living so we will indeed reap a harvest of righteousness and see Your salvation come to all people. Turn the course of the hearts of those in leadership to follow Your will, 'for the king's heart is in the hand of the LORD; He directs it like a watercourse wherever He pleases'. Lord, guide us each day to remain faithful to Your Word and to meet You in prayer every day from this moment on, as we have each day these past 77 days, that our hearts will be fully connected to Yours.  Let Your kingdom come, and Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. We give You all glory, honor, and praise.  In the mighty, glorious, awesome, powerful and majestic name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.

Steadfast in prayer,
