Day 74
Revive Righteousness
_____________________________
Dear Praying Friend,
Revival has been the prayer of many faithful intercessors for years as our nation continues to drift further and further away from the spiritual foundation we were built upon. To be revived we must first realize that we have been sleeping while the moral and spiritual fabric of our nation has been torn to pieces. Many believers have conformed to the patterns of the world and have forgotten their first love (Revelation 2:4-5). When we return to the Lord with all our heart we will experience the life we have been waiting, and praying, for!
As we meditate on Psalm 85:6-7 today, the people of Israel long, not only for restoration, but for revival. They desired to return to the place of abiding love and faithfulness they once knew with their husband, the Lord. "Revive us, and we will call on your name" (Psalm 80:18). They knew what it was like to experience God's hand of blessing and they missed the security and peace they once knew. So many times we take for granted what we have been given, and we don't realize how much we miss it until its' gone. We must seek the Lord now - while He may be found (Isaiah 55:6)!
"Come, let us return to the LORD.
He has torn us to pieces but He will heal us;
He has injured us but He will bind up our wounds.
After two days He will revive us;
on the third day He will restore us,
that we may live in His presence.
Let us acknowledge the LORD;
let us press on to acknowledge Him."
(Hosea 6:1-3a)
Dear Heavenly Father, how perfect and righteous are Your ways. Lead us to walk on Your path and prevent us from straying in this world, Lord. Forgive us for how we have fallen from our First Love. We long to return to You with all our heart. Lord, move our hearts with Your great compassion that we might return to You now and find the forgiveness and healing that this land so desperately needs. Your law, O Lord is perfect, reviving the soul. Revive us to walk in Your way and to do Your will. May we fall in love with You all over again as we return to Your word. Teach us to become people of prayer that we might grow to depend on You more, and be moved to share Your love with the whole world. Create in me a pure heart, O God and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from Your presence or take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore me to the joy of Your salvation. I rejoice in You O God, my Savior. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
Steadfast in prayer,
