Day 73
Restored Righteousness
___________________________
Dear Praying Friend,
The moral and spiritual fabric of our nation has been systematically frayed for the past 60 to 70 years while much of the Church has been slumbering. The Bible, prayer, and the Ten Commandments have been stripped from our schools, leaving the past few (and future!) generations no solid foundation to stand upon. Without these necessary pillars to hold our society together we don't have a leg to stand on. "If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all" (Isaiah 7:9b). We need to remember the foundation we were built upon and return with all our hearts to see it rebuilt (reference 1 Corinthians 3:11)!
As we meditate on Psalm 85:4-5 today, the people had been restored to the land but they longed to be restored to a right relationship with the Lord. They questioned if the next generation would suffer His rebuke for their sins. "Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; He is the faithful God, keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commands" (Deuteronomy 7:9). True restoration begins first in the hearts of the people. May believers everywhere recognize the importance of living holy and righteous lives before the Lord, and may God grant us the favor to be restored for the sake of His name!
"...He restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for His name's sake."
(Psalm 23:3)
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that we can find refreshment and restoration in You. May Your children realize how much we need You, and return to walk in Your righteousness. Lord, we realize that we, Your children, have been sleeping instead of praying; we have been distracted by the world, instead of becoming diligent students of Your Word, that we would be filled with the knowledge of Your will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. Stir Your sleeping Bride to respond to Your call to return to You with all her heart. Waken us morning by morning; waken our ears to listen like one being taught. We have wasted time when we should have been worshiping You with the total sacrifice of our lives. Forgive us for the unrighteous and rebellious path we have been walking down these past few generations; we have fallen far from the height we once stood upon. Draw us back to You with compassion and loving kindness. Restore us, O God; make Your face shine upon us, that we may be saved. Restore us to Yourself, O Lord. We long to return to our First Love and see Your foundation of truth be restored in this nation once again. Restore this generation to the joy of Your salvation, grant a willing spirit to sustain us. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
Steadfast in prayer,
