HIS HAND
OF FAVOR
"It was not by their sword
that they won the land,
nor did their arm bring them
victory;
it was Your right hand,
Your arm, and
the light of Your face,
for You loved them."
(Psalm 44:2-3)

Day 71

His Righteous Right Hand
________________________________________

Dear Praying Friend,

For the past 70 days, we have answered God's call to remain faithful in prayer as we wait for His hand to move.  Our focus has been upon His mighty hand as we have sought Him in His Word and have been moved to our knees in prayer.  We understand that only the powerful hand of God can save us and deliver us.  May we surrender control and allow God to astound us with His wonders!  "Like Your name, O God, Your praise reaches to the ends of the earth; Your right hand is filled with righteousness"  (Psalm 48:10).

For our final week, in this 77 day commission, we will focus on the righteousness of God as we meditate on Psalm 85.  Seven years ago the Lord led me to this Psalm as He impressed upon my heart His plan for restoring the spiritual foundation of this nation.  It is here that He confirmed His promise in Isaiah 58:12 to revive, restore, and rebuild His people through the power of His Word and prayer - the very foundation our nation was built upon.  May we never forget who our King is and remember that our Lord loves righteousness and justice, as we continue in prayer these next seven days and beyond.  "He will judge the world in righteousness; He will govern the peoples with justice"  (Psalm 9:8).

"Your arm is endued with power;
Your hand is strong, Your right hand exalted.
Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne;
love and faithfulness go before You."
(Psalm 89:13-14)

Dear Heavenly Father, Your right hand, O Lord, is majestic in power.  We will not grow fearful or anxious in the days ahead, because You are with us; we will not be dismayed, for You are our God and You will strengthen us, help us, and uphold us with Your righteous right hand.  Nothing is beyond Your reach or out of Your control.  Forgive us when we try to take matters into our own hands.  We are weak; only in You do we find our strength.  We turn to You now, waiting expectantly for Your hand to move in a mighty way.  We realize that restoration and repair does not happen without the necessary painful process of purifying and stripping.  Lord, "no discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful.  Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it."  We praise You that Your hand is upon us, we ask for grace and mercy as we move forward in these difficult and challenging days.  We know that You are strengthening us to stand firm and building us up to have greater courage and boldness to face the battle that lies ahead.  Thank You for being a holy, righteous, and just God.  You are righteous in all Your ways and loving to all You have made.  We come before Your throne seeking forgiveness for being captivated by this world instead of consumed by You.  Forgive us for conforming, accepting, and being swayed by this world, instead of living holy and righteous lives that are acceptable and pleasing in Your sight.  We want to hear from You, we desire to be restored to a position of favor, we long for Your hand of blessing.  We hunger and thirst for Your righteousness and ask that You would fill us, Lord.  Fill the whole earth with Your glory!  We exalt and magnify the wonderful name of Jesus. Amen.

Steadfast in prayer,
