Day 69
Immovable ROCK

Dear Praying Friend,
We have been praying that our nation would turn its' attention back to the strong spiritual foundation we were built upon. We cannot stand apart from Him. Our God is an immovable Rock, our cornerstone, our firm foundation - everything else is shifting sand. "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who trusts will never be dismayed" (Isaiah 29:16).
Whether it be twelve stones from the Jordan River or one single boulder at Plymouth Rock, memorials of stone have been set up as reminders to us of God's saving power and His acts of deliverance on behalf of His people. The world is shifting, changing, and falling apart, but God's Word is solid, His promises are firm, and He will break apart anything that attempts to block His path and hinder His plans.
As we meditate on Psalm 33:16-19 today, the psalmist reminds us that the size of any human army is no contest when God is on your side. David knew this without a doubt, having, himself, stood before the giant Goliath while the armies of both sides looked on and watched as he experienced God's saving power. The Lord has power to both deliver and destroy us - this truth alone should cause us to tremble and place our trust in Him. Strength in numbers means little when facing a mighty army of One! "Nothing can hinder the LORD from saving, whether by many or by few" (1 Samuel 14:6). May we surrender our hand in battle to the One who has already won the war.
"You will keep in perfect peace
him whose mind is steadfast,
because he trusts in You.
Trust in the LORD forever,
for the LORD, the LORD, is the Rock eternal."
(Isaiah 26:3-4)
Dear Heavenly Father, You are the strength of Your people. I praise You for You are my rock, my fortress, and my deliver. In You I find my peace, my safety, and my security. You are my refuge and my strength. There are memorials all over our nation that stand as a testimony to Your saving grace and Your hand of mercy. How blessed we are to have had Your hand of favor rest upon us. Forgive us for attempting to build upon Your firm foundation flimsy structures made of lies, deception, immorality, and corruption. We long for righteousness and justice to prevail once again and we know that will require some sifting and shaking, but You will hold us firm, because You care for us. We place our trust in You; we will stand on Your side because we know that if God is for us, who can be against us? No weapon forged against us will prevail. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. Open our eyes to see this vast army that is surrounding us and help us to not be fearful, because we are more than conquerors; we are overcomers in You, Lord Jesus. You have told us these things, so that in You we would have peace. In this world we will have trouble, but we will take heart, because You have overcome the world. You are our rock, our sure defense in a world bent on our destruction. In You we place our trust. We will wait upon You. We will stand firm in our faith with You as our Rock. In Jesus' Mighty Name. Amen.
