Day 65
Hold Up The Light

Dear Praying Friend,
Sometimes we can get so wrapped up in our daily problems and pursuits that we miss out on all the simple blessings and gifts that come our way each day. Everywhere we look God's creation proclaims His provision and love to mankind. May we take time each day to rest in the care of His unfailing love and receive with joy and gratitude the gifts of His goodness He so amply supplies.
As we meditate on Psalm 33:4-5 today, we continue in our praise of the Lord's unfailing love as we consider with gratitude how He rule's over His creation and pours out His love upon all His creatures. The world was created out of God's goodness and love. Everything He created is good, and He declared it to be so (Genesis 1:31)! No dark forces, or evil men, can frustrate His plans as He continually delights in giving all good things to His children. May we open our eyes to see the goodness of God that is daily poured into our lives as we faithfully walk in His will and shine His wonderful light. "God saw that the light was good and He separated the light from the darkness" (Genesis 1:4).
"You, O LORD, keep my lamp burning;
my God turns my darkness into light."
(Psalm 18:28)
Dear Heavenly Father, Your Word is powerful. Through Your word You brought light into this world. How wondrous and beautiful is Your light and how blessed we are to walk in the power of that light each day. The forces of darkness in this world seem to be casting heavier shadows in these challenging days that we are living in, but we have nothing to fear because we are surrounded by Your light. We are children of the light. Each new day that dawns Your goodness is proclaimed to all of creation. Every day we see Your hand at work as the sun rises and sets in Your perfect order. You are in total control of Your creation; the forces of darkness cannot compare to the power of Your light. Thank You for breaking through the darkness of sin in my life to fill me with Your wonderful light. Help me to rise like the sun each day and cast light in the dark places that keep many people trapped. Let me radiate Your light and truth by being a diligent student of Your Word, and proclaiming Your glorious Word to everyone You bring across my path. Let light shine out of darkness so that all those living in darkness may be drawn to Your light and experience the life of freedom and peace which You have purposed us to live. In Your light we see light. Continue to shine on us as we daily walk in Your light. My heart longs for the day when Your glory will be our eternal light. Until then I will be satisfied to daily soak in the presence of the light of Your Word and seek the pleasure of the light of Your face shining on m In the wonderful, mighty, and glorious name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
