Day 63
Hand of Revelation
Dear Praying Friend,
Yesterday we completed our Epiphany journey. Epiphany means "manifestation" or "shining forth". It is the climax of the Christmas season (in Eastern Orthodox churches) and the beginning of the season leading up until Lent. It is a festival that celebrates how God comes to His people and reveals Himself. He came to us in human flesh to reveal His salvation to the world and He will come again. How blessed we are that He has come into the world, and how we, now, long for His return!
As we meditate on Psalm 27:13-14 today, David expresses his confidence in the Lord to fulfill His plans for His people. His task was simply to wait upon the Lord, with courage and confidence. The Scriptures exhort the faithful, time and time again, to be strong and courageous, and to not fear, for God is with us and will not forsake us (Joshua 1:5, 9; Hebrews 13:5).
May we be faithful in prayer as we diligently study the Scriptures to gain understanding of all that the world is going through at this present time. The Lord has revealed Himself to us and has provided us a wonderful picture of His plan (in His Word!) - if we will be faithful to seek Him out. May we place our confidence in the Lord as the days grow more difficult and the times more uncertain. Our certainty and hope rests in Christ alone! Be strong, take heart, and be not afraid! (Isaiah 35:4).
"I am still confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the LORD
in the land of the living.
Wait for the LORD;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the LORD."
(Psalm 27:13-14)
Dear Heavenly Father, You are our Creator. You have perfectly planned and purposed all things, and we praise You for the work of Your hands. You are mighty and awesome and worthy of all our praise. Our hope rests in You, we have nothing to fear. There is nothing that man can do to us that is out of Your hands. You control all things. Your plans for Your creation are unfolding in Your perfect time; we wait patiently upon You, as You have been so patient with us. Give us strength to stand firm in these difficult days. Provide us with the boldness we need to be about the work You have called us to do. We praise You for all the ways you have shown Yourself to us and for the revelation that is ours every day if we will simply submit to the study of Your Word. I want to know You Lord; above all else, there is nothing on this earth I desire. My heart longs to see Your face. I look forward, with great expectation, to that day when I will see You face to face. How wondrous a day that will be! May my life bring glory and honor to Your name. Be exalted, Lord, above all the earth! In Jesus' Name. Amen.
Steadfast in prayer,
