His Hand Prepares My Path

Dear Praying Friend,
This morning the wind is blowing fiercely, the clouds are moving across the sky, and the sun is peaking through the clouds as the new morning is introduced. The noise and movement of the dawn boldly proclaims that God is at work preparing the day. How glorious to wake up and know the One who never slumbers nor sleeps - Who paints the sky and prepares the path for His children to walk each day.
As we meditate on Psalm 143:7-8 today, the psalmist requests that he awaken to the dawning of the Lord's salvation. He longs to receive word of God's unfailing love. His desire is to see God's face shine upon him like the bright, morning sun spilling out of the sky. "The LORD make His face shine upon you...the LORD turn His face toward you and give you peace" (Numbers 6:25-26). It is in God's Word that the psalmist is reminded of God's unfailing love; it is here that his strength is renewed for the day. Today, may we find renewed strength as we begin this day seeking God's face and listening to His voice.
"Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope:
Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed,
for His compassions never fail.
They are new every morning;
great is Your faithfulness.
I say to myself, 'The LORD is my portion;
therefore I will wait for Him.'
The LORD is good to those whose hope is in Him,
to the one who seeks Him."
(Lamentations 3:22-25)
Dear Heavenly Father, 'You are like the light of the morning at sunrise on a cloudless morning...' Thank You for this glorious new day that You have prepared for me. Help me to wait quietly and patiently upon You to know how You would have me spend every moment of this day. I don't want to waste the hours You have given me. I want to be available to follow Your plans today. I long to bring You pleasure. I long to see Your smile upon me and hear Your voice whisper 'This is the way; walk in it.' This day was created by You as a gift for us. Help us to see every detail of this day as a work of Your hands. Thank You for the beauty of Your creation. Help me to add to that beauty by walking in Your way and revealing Your Truth with my every word and action. Be my guide today and let Your word illumine my path as the sun lights my way. Teach me Your way and lead me in a straight path. Let Your Presence go with me this day. Help me to stay by Your side, for I know You will never leave mine. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
