The Festival of Lights journey begins TODAY!
December 8th through December 16th
This 8-day candle lighting ceremony, in celebration of Hanukkah,
is a devotional journey for the whole family to participate in.
Hanukkah, or "dedication", is the Jewish celebration commemorating
the rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem. The lighting of the 9-branch
Menorah symbolizes the "miracle of the container of oil" in which the oil burned
miraculously for eight days. Candles are set in the window of Jewish homes to
"illuminate the house without" and to light the way for all who pass by.
The Jews have been made "a light for the Gentiles" (Isaiah 49:6). As we reflect
back with gratitude over the plan of God for the salvation of all mankind through
the blessed birth, ministry, death, and resurrection of the Messiah, and look
forward to the day when Zion's salvation will burn like a blazing torch (Isaiah 62:1),
we take this time now to re-dedicate our lives as the temple of God and
consecrate our hearts to the Lord - allowing the miraculous oil of the Holy Spirit
within to radiate and reveal the Light of Christ to the lost
in this dark and fallen world.
We invite you and your family to join us for this special 8-day re-dedication ceremony.
This is not a fast, it is a feast!
