Day 30
Only His hand will do!
___________________________
Dear Praying Friend,
Our Bridegroom is patient, merciful, and forgiving. Even after the long list of offenses we have committed against Him He still desires us and sees us as a beautiful, pure, virgin Bride (reference 2 Corinthians 11:2). He has personally provided everything necessary for our cleansing and our restoration - all we have to do is turn to Him and take His hand (reference Acts 3:19). "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).
As we meditate on Psalm 51:1-2 today, David has acknowledged his sin and is seeking God's merciful hand. "Turn to me and have mercy on me, as you always do to those who love your name" (Psalm 119:132). He has personally experienced the Lord's rebuke, but has come to understand that with the Lord's anger comes mercy. The intent of men has always been for his destruction, whereas, ultimately, the Lord's desire is to see his restoration. "The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against Him" (Daniel 9:9).
"Let us fall into the hands of the LORD,
for His mercy is great;
but do not let me fall into the hands of men."
(2 Samuel 24:14)
Dear Heavenly Father, 'You are forgiving and good, O LORD, abounding in love to all who call on You' Only with You can we find forgiveness. It is an understatement to say how blessed we are. You wait, while we wander. You pursue us, when we pursue everything that captures our attention. Forgive us for being caught up in this world - that is not our desire anymore -our one desire is to be captivated by You! You are magnificent and holy, and we come to You disheveled and stained. Accept us, Lord, and turn us into Your radiant Bride. Wash us, cleanse us, and make us whiter than snow. Your hands are the only touch that will do. 'You, O LORD, are a compassionate God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness. Turn to me and have mercy on me.' I will sing of Your love and justice, Lord, I will sing of Your praise. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
Steadfast in prayer,
