HIS HAND
OF FAVOR
"It was not by their sword
that they won the land,
nor did their arm bring them
victory;
it was Your right hand,
Your arm, and
the light of Your face,
for You loved them."
(Psalm 44:2-3)

Day 20

Hand of Protection
_____________________________________

Dear Praying Friend,
The great price for our restoration has been paid in full by the precious blood of Jesus Christ - it is a free gift that is ours for the taking - if only we would open our hands (and our hearts) to receive Him.  Our Lord paid the highest price to ensure communion with His beloved ones.  He desires now that we would surrender the chaotic circumstances of this world, and, instead, find solace and safety in the shelter of His Presence (Psalm 31:20).

As we meditate on Psalm 32:6-7 today, David calls the assembly to seek the Lord while He may be found.  For the Lord is a faithful and trustworthy God, and in Him they will find protection and forgiveness of sins.  The threatening circumstances of life cannot touch the Lord, but He is not out of reach for those who would surrender their lives in full devotion to Him.  "God did this so that men would seek Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us" (Acts 17:27).  He gave His life to remove the obstacle that stands in the way of Him being close to His people - what stands in our way now is our own stubborn hearts.  If only we would come out of hiding from our sin and run straight into the shelter of His wings.

 "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem,
you who kill the prophets and stone whose sent to you,
how often I have longed to gather your children together,
as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings,
but you were not willing."
(Matthew 23:37)

Dear Heavenly Father, how blessed we are that we can find protection and rest in the shelter of Your wings.  O Lord, 'I long to dwell in Your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of Your wings'.  Lord, how we long to be with You.  We put our hope in the future day when we will live with You forever.  For now, we will take refuge in the shelter of Your wings while the world around us remains in turmoil and chaos.  We offer You our full devotion - may we be found faithful in your sight.  'Keep me as the apple of Your eye; hide me in the shadow of Your wings'.  You are our shield - may we put our trust in nothing and no one, but You.  'Because You are my help, I sing in the shadow of Your wings'.  May Your hear be stirred with the joyful praise of Your people who have found shelter in the covering of Your wings.  We praise the glorious and mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

You Are My Hiding Place
[be sure your volume is turned on]

"You are my hiding place,
You always fill my heart with songs of deliverance.
Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.
I will trust in You.
Let the weak say I am strong in the strength of my Lord.
I will trust in You!"
