Day 17
Give Thanks
_________________________
Dear Praying Friend,
In times of battle God's Word reveals that His battle plan included a processional praise team leading the way to victory. Armed with an artillery of unlikely instruments, God's warriors would march out by faith, clothed in a spirit of praise, and declaring to the world that our God does not wage war with human wisdom or weapons (Joshua 6:4; Judges 7:16-20; 2 Chronicles 20:21; 2 Corinthians 10:3-5).
The spiritual battle continues today; and believers, like the faithful warriors of old, must stand ready, dressed for battle with armor of faith and trust, and willing to go forward in the fear of the Lord with His praise ever upon our lips. "Sing to the LORD, praise His name; proclaim His salvation day after day. Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous deeds among the peoples" (Psaom 96:2-3).
Today, as we celebrate Thanksgiving Day with our friends and family, we will pause our prayer focus of Psalm 32 and turn instead to Psalm 100 as an offering of praise and thanksgiving to our Heavenly Father for His limitless and benevolent blessings in our lives. May all you faithful prayer warriors drown out the worlds distracting and discouraging chatter with your songs of praise as you continue to stand firm in your frontline position of prayer on the spiritual battlefield. May we keep our eyes fixed on the One who is leading us forward in victory, finding strength and confidence in our Lord Jesus Christ; and may we continue to pray feverently for the protection and preparation of a growing Christian calvary as we ready our response for the battles we will face in the days ahead.
"Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.
Worship the LORD with gladness;
come before Him with joyful songs.
Know that the LORD is God.
It is He Who made us, and we are His;
we are His people, the sheep of His pasture.
Enter His gates with thanksgiving
and His courts with praise;
give thanks to Him and praise His name.
For the LORD is good and His love endures forever;
His faithfulness continues through all generations."
(Psalm 100)
Dear Heavenly Father, how blessed we are that we are Your children, the work of your hands. You deserve our highest praise and our full devotion. Thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. I will give thanks to the LORD because of His righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High. We praise You forever, from generation to generation we will recount Your praise. May we go forward in the days ahead singing Your praises until the whole earth is filled with Your glory. For great is Your love, higher than the heavens, Your faithfulness reaches to the skies. We will wait upon You, O Lord; we will walk in Your ways, love You with all our heart, and serve You all our lives. You are our Commander and we will stand boldly on the battlefield awaiting Your orders. Ascribe to the LORD, O mighty ones, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength. Ascribe to the LORD the glory due His name; worship the LORD in the splendor of His holiness. With thanksgiving and praise we exalt Your glorious name. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to Him in song. You are my God, and I will give You thanks; You are my God, and I will exalt You. Amen. Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God forever and ever. Amen.
Give thanks with a grateful heart!
