Day 13
In the Palm of His Hand
____________________________
Dear Praying Friend,
We are all familiar with the song, "He's got the whole world in His hands", yet how quickly we forget the size of God's palm when evil men are putting the squeeze on us. Our tiny little kingdoms exist in this great big ball of blue and green, called earth, and it all fits perfectly in the palm of His hand. Our fears of man should subside quickly when we remember that all the Lord has to do is make a fist.
As we meditate on Psalm 6:8-9 today, we join David as he experiences a burst of revelation that has washed over him an overwhelming sense of peace to his heart and mind. No longer does he despair at the hands of the enemy, for he rejoices in the confidence he has found in the hand of the Lord. "My soul finds rest in God alone" (Psalm 62:1).
"Praise be to the LORD,
for He has heard my cry for mercy.
the LORD is my strength and my shield,
my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped.
My heart leaps for joy
and I will give thanks to Him in song."
(Psalm 28:6-7)
Dear Heavenly Father, how blessed we are that You hear, and accept, our prayers. Open our eyes that we may see that we are not at the mercy of the wicked; instead we rest securely in the palm of Your hand. 'Love the Lord, all His saints! The Lord preserves the faithful.' Lord help us to realize Your fingers surround us and we have no reason to be anxious for anything, for we can, in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present our requests to You, O God; and experience the peace of God, that surpasses all understanding, guarding our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. You are our stronghold in times of trouble; You deliver us from the wicked, and You bless us with peace. We love You Lord. You have heard our voice, and have heard our cry for mercy; we will call on You as long as we live. Be at rest once more, O soul, for the Lord has been good to us. We will sing of Your praises until the whole world acknowledges that Your hands are the Creator Who holds them. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Steadfast in prayer,
