The Alligator Man by James Sheehan
The Alligator Man is a terrific legal thriller with great courtroom scenes between two experienced criminal attorneys and a judge with a grudge. The Alligator Man is also a beautifully written story of family and of love and redemption. You'll be hooked from the first page, but will not want the story to end. Another hit for this now seasoned author who is one of my favorites.

The Zig Zag Girl by Elly Griffiths
This smartly written, old-fashioned murder mystery takes place in England in the early '50s and tells the story of a group of magicians (loosely based on the Magic Gang who were stationed in Egypt) who served together in Scotland during WWII and are reunited 5 years later after the death of one of their fellow servicemen. Highly energized and fast paced, the story takes you back more than half a century, where Edgar uses his skills as a policeman to assemble the clues. We are given clues and red herrings, and with no cell phones, no DNA, and no crime lab, it is a wonderfully refreshing novel!

Pretending to Dance by Diane Chamberlain
This is an enchanting book about family, illness, and the damaging secrets we keep. The young fourteen-year-old Molly is so brave, open and sheltered where the 38-year-old Molly is closed and cautious. As the story unfolds, you understand how one has shaped the other. The attention to MS is well described and exposes the reality of the challenges faced by the person with the disease as well as those who love them. Very well developed characters who are so real you want to reach out and hug them.
