An Evening with Joseph Galloway

Greenville, SC, August 4, 2015 - Meet Joseph Galloway -- a UPI war correspondent during the Vietnam War and the co-author of the bestselling book We Were Soldiers Once...and Young (Presidio, paperback, $18.00) and its sequel, We Are Soldiers Still (HarperCollins, paperback, $14.99) -- at an evening event at The Poinsett Club on **TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3rd**, at 6:00 pm. Tickets are $21 and include a $4 donation to a military charity, as well as beer, wine, and light hors d'eouvres. Following remarks by Mr. Galloway at about 7pm, he will be available to sign books.

This event is one of a series of military history talks sponsored by the Military Lecture Series committee. Advance reservations are required, and ticket costs cannot be refunded if cancelled within 72 hours of the event. Attire is business casual (no jeans). Fiction Addiction will be selling Mr. Galloway's books on-site, but we encourage you to reserve books with us when you order your tickets to ensure availability. Tickets and books can be purchased online, at the store, or by calling Fiction Addiction at 864-675-0540.

One of the most famous books about the Vietnam War is the bestselling We Were Soldiers Once...and Young, which was co-authored by Lt. Gen. Harold G. Moore and UPI war correspondent Joe Galloway. These men tell of their experiences when Moore (then a Lt. Col.) and Galloway were helicoptered into the Ia Drang Valley with 450 soldiers of the 1st Battallion, 7th Cavalry, only to find that they were surrounded by more than 2,000 North Vietnamese Army (NVA) soldiers. This was the first large-unit engagement involving NVA regular troops and an American unit. After three days of non-stop fighting and thousands of casualties, the North Vietnamese withdrew across the Cambodian border. Joe Galloway became the only war correspondent during the Vietnam War to be awarded the Bronze Star for Valor for his actions during the engagement. Mel Gibson starred in a movie adaptation of the book.

Moore and Galloway also co-authored a sequel, We Are Soldiers Still, that recounts their return visit in 1993 to the battlefield with some members of the Vietnamese Army who were fighting against them in the battle. Galloway will join us for remarks and will be available for questions, after which he will be available to sign books which will be available through Fiction Addiction.

If you cannot make the event, you can reserve a personalized copy of the author's book by contacting Fiction Addiction in advance at 864-675-0540 or at info@fiction-addiction.com.
