August 2015

I hope you've had a great summer and are slowly gearing up for the next school year.

I'm very excited about our event next week with Barton Swaim, who has written about his eye-opening experiences as Gov. Mark Sanford's speechwriter. The Speechwriter is getting marvelous reviews and this is a free event so please come out and join us on Monday at 6pm!

And remember to save the date of September 25th to bring your little ones to University Center for a free Eric Litwin performance.

-Jill

Badlands Badlands by C.J. Box
In the small oil town of Grimstad, ND, 12-year-old Kyle Westergaard has dreams -- he wants to get out of town, take care of his mother, and give them a better life. While delivering newspapers, he witnesses a car accident and takes a mysterious bundle from the scene. Now in possession of a lot of money and packets of white powder, Kyle wonders if his luck has changed. Detective Cassie Dewell realizes in the meantime that she may be in over her head. As she is propelled on a collision course with a murderous enemy, she finds that the key to it all might come in the most unlikely form: an undersized boy on a bike who keeps showing up where he doesn't belong.
