Southern Author Dr. Glenn Parris Book Signing at Fiction Addiction
Greenville, SC, April 17, 2015 - Southern doctor and author Glenn Parris will be signing copies of his debut medical thriller, The Renaissance of Aspirin (Xlibris, paperback, $17.99), at Fiction Addiction on Saturday, May 16th, from 1-3pm. This event is free and open to the public.
As the first Jack Wheaton mystery, this is a story of intrigue, passion, betrayal and murder. The chase begins with a bang in Boston, but the fireworks really spark in Atlanta below the king and queen towers on the cover. An industrial Cold War between rival pharmaceutical giants results in the creation of a cure for fibromyalgia by one and a diagnostic test by the other (both obscenely lucrative). Associate Professor Anita Thomas, the youngest member of the biotech team for the cure, gets fired for digging too deeply into the details and finding flaws in the formula. Meanwhile she discovers nature's solution to fibro; better, cheaper, and out of reach of her former employers. The game is afoot as a rogue pharmaceutical executive (Orson Quirk) playing both sides against the middle will stop at nothing to get her formula and silence Anita forever. Now Anita is running for her life under an assumed identity in the guise of a medical intern. Only her supervising 3rd year resident, Dr. Jack Wheaton, stands between Anita and certain death. Unless they get away, the drug will never see the light of day...and neither will they.
About the author:
As a board certified rheumatologist, Glenn Parris has practiced medicine in the northeast Atlanta suburbs for over 20 years. He has been writing for nearly as long. Originally from New York City, Parris migrated south to escape the cold and snow, but fell in love with the southern charms of Georgia and Carla, his wife of 22 years. He now writes cross-genre in medical mystery, science fiction, fantasy, and historical fiction. The Renaissance of Aspirin is his first novel.
Dr. Parris is pledging a portion of the proceeds from sales of The Renaissance of Aspirin to Fibromyalgia awareness, support, and research for the 6 million U.S. silent sufferers.
