South Carolina Author Bucky Williams-Hooker to Celebrate Launch of Memoir at Fiction Addiction

Greenville, SC, December 16, 2014 - South Carolina author Bucky Williams-Hooker will be signing copies of his debut memoir, No More Mr. Cellophane!: The Story of a Wounded Healer (CreateSpace, paperback, $7.95), at his launch party at Fiction Addiction on Saturday, January 17th, from 1:00-3:00pm. This event is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served. You can reserve copies of the book online or by calling us at 864-675-0540. We will also have books for sale at the event on a first-come, first-served basis.

This book is an autobiographical description of a man's spiritual journey from brokenness to healing. He describes how he learned mistrust as a child, the feelings of abandonment and deep pain and suffering, rape, separation from his family to living in a world where he felt nearly invisible to others. But once he met his life partner, he began to find his spiritual self, and with his partner's support began to put the pieces of his life together. These two men struggled over 37 years to build a strong, faith-based relationship, and with therapy the author finally addressed the issues of his childhood and became, and is becoming still, the man his Creator made him to be: a wounded healer, working and dedicating his life to helping others in alleviating their own pain and suffering.

Bucky Williams-Hooker About the author:

Bucky Williams-Hooker was born into a broken home and had no stability in his life until hie was placed in a children's home at age 11. He remained there until he graduated high school, at which time he went to High Point University, where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Theater Arts. He then obtained a Masters of Arts in Religion degree from Lancaster Theological Seminary and pastored a small congregation of LGBT Christians for two years. He and his partner Joe then moved to Florida, where they adopted Bucky's nephew and raised him as their son. After living on a beach community called Treasure Island for several years, they decided to return to their native soil and moved to South Carolina, where they continue to live today.

During the Florida and South Carolina years, Bucky earned his RN license and practiced psychiatric and addictions nursing for 16 years. He obtained a Ph.D. in Spiritual Metaphysics and is currently writing books on his life experiences. He and his partner of 36 years plan to be married in April 2015. He is the author of No More Mr. Cellophane! and plans to continue writing throughout his retirement. Currently he sees patients on a limited basis, working with them on matters of their spiritual health.
