Greetings!

Fiction Addiction has a big announcement -- we are partnering with Kobo to bring you the best in eReading!

Kobo Glo

We are selling two Kobo eReaders: the Kobo mini ($79.99) and the Kobo Glo ($129.99). Each device you buy from us will automatically be linked to Fiction Addiction and each Kobo eBook you purchase through your Kobo eReader will support the store. Our eReaders are in stock and we are happy to demo them for you.

Or, if you read through an app on your iPad or phone you can create a Kobo account that is affiliated with our store, download the Kobo app, and then every eBook you purchase through your affiliated Kobo account will support Fiction Addiction (at no additional cost to you).

Who is Kobo?

Kobo was founded in Toronto, Canada in 2009 and is still headquartered there. They are the largest seller of eBooks outside the United States, with over 10 million registered users in over 170 countries. Now they are partnering with us and 500 other members of the American Booksellers Association to bring their award-winning devices to American consumers.

Why Kobo?

Like Fiction Addiction, Kobo is passionate about books. Kobo currently has over

3 million eBooks -- three times as many as Amazon or Barnes & Noble -- including over 1 million FREE eBooks. Their catalog includes bestsellers, Indie Next List great reads and other recommendations that can be downloaded instantly over WiFi. Kobo is constantly updating their library and adding new releases. You can also purchase newspapers and magazines through Kobo. Kobo devices are full featured and have been scored higher than similar Kindle models by Consumer Reports.

Read Freely.

Kobo is an open platform, unlike Amazon's proprietary Kindle format. The eBooks you buy with Kobo are yours. You're free to read them on the most popular open devices. Or, you can buy books from other eBook retailers and read them with your Kobo. The choice is yours. Kobos will read open-source files such as PDF, EPUB, or ACSM files. They cannot read proprietary Kindle files. Please note that you may have to use Adobe Digital Editions to transfer your open-source files from your computer to your new Kobo reader. I have personally transferred a Nook Book to a Kobo and can walk you through the procedure.

Why eBooks?

We understand the reasons that eBooks have become so popular and we are happy to be able to provide an eBook solution for our customers, but we hope that, like us, you also value the physical book. We would never want to talk you out of a physical book purchase, but if you are already planning to purchase a title electronically please stop by and try out our Kobo eRreaders. Your ebook support will help us continue to provide a physical space where Greenvillians can browse new releases, discuss their favorite books and authors, and mingle with other readers.

Thanks!
