A chance to share your story with Oprah

March 20, 2014

Have you ever wanted to tell the world how hard it is to raise a family on direct care worker wages? You may have a chance to do just that.

Next Tuesday, March 25, Oprah will interview Maria Shriver on Oprah Prime about Shriver's new HBO documentary, Paycheck to Paycheck: The Life & Times of Katrina Gilbert. Paycheck to Paycheck is the story of a Chattanooga, Tennessee, CNA and single mother who struggles to raise her three children on $9.49 an hour.

Oprah Prime's producers are looking for people in a similar situation to be members of next Tuesday's audience. They also want some people to share their stories on the show.

If you are raising a family on less than $30,000 a year and are interested in possibly sharing your story on the show, click here. If you are interested only in possibly being in the audience and are a woman struggling to make ends meet as you live paycheck to paycheck, click here.

Please share this message with anyone you know who might be interested. Let's get some direct care workers into Oprah's audience!
Direct Care Alliance is the national advocacy voice of direct care workers in long-term care. We empower workers to speak out for better wages, benefits, respect, and working conditions, so more people can commit to direct care as a career. We also convene powerful allies nationwide to build consensus for change.
