Respect for Home Care Workers brings you news from Direct Care Alliance about the campaign to win home care workers the right to minimum wage and overtime pay.
RESPECT
for Home Care Workers

We did it! Thanks to your phone calls over the past day, Senator Johanns' amendment to block the Department of Labor's proposed regulations extending minimum wage and overtime protections to home care workers was not offered in the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee this morning.

There is still work to be done to ensure the regulations are finalized, but today's victory moves us closer to winning basic labor rights for millions of home care workers nationwide.

Stay tuned for information about ways you can get involved in important upcoming advocacy actions to keep the momentum going -- your efforts are crucial in the campaign to win respect for our nation's fastest-growing workforce! Thank you!
