Candidate Video Profiles
Pre-recorded at ACMi studio on Park Ave, these 5-minute profiles gave candidates a chance to speak, through our our cameras, to their current or future constituents about themselves and what they hoped to accomplish in office. These video profiles were then posted online on the ACMI Video-On Demand .
Candidates' Debates
Candidate debates for the open Board of Selectmen seat and for 2 openings on the School Committee were recorded at ACMi Studio-A and aired from March 18th until the April 6th election. Online viewing of both the Selectmen Debate and the School Committee Debate was made available on the Arlington Public News (APN) website.

Short sleeves return to ACMi

Finally the chill has left the air and springtime is upon us at 85 Park Ave. It is also heating up at Studio B, now bustling with activity at 892 Mass Ave.
Town Meeting 2013 was in full swing as all of us at ACMi were preparing for: the coming annual Relay for Life cancer cure fundraiser on June 1st; for the AHS graduation the following weekend; for our own Producers' Picnic the weekend after that; and for our week-long TV Production workshop for Arlington Community Education's SummerFun series at the end of July. Though we're busy as the bees traveling soon to our fresh new frontyard flowers, we're never too busy to welcome our members and our friends here at ACMi in the Heights. See you soon!

The Irish Again
New interns from Northern Ireland at ACMi
Arlington Community Media Inc. is once again blessed by the arrival of two interns from Northern Ireland as part of a program initiated last year by The Irish International Immigrant Center (IIIC) and Ann-Marie Byrne, Director of its Learning Exchange Program. This year's duo arrived at ACMi bootcamp for induction on Wednesday morning April 17th for a tour with Ms. Byrne and two other officials from the program.

27-year old Niall Eggleston from Londonderry and 19-year-old Ryan McGlinchey from Omagh in County Tyrone settled in quickly and the following day were already busy recording and editing a short piece designed to shift them into a workflow routine for the following five weeks, Monday through Thursday, that allowed each of them to learn about all aspects of television production. . . . And All That Jazz
Six members of the AHS Jazz Octet, seen above, came to ACMi Studio-A in Arlington Heights to simulate what may become commonplace in their future careers -- they came to record the sight and sound of themselves in high-definition video.
On April 11th the renowned Arlington High School Jazz Band and its subset the AHS Jazz Octet (pictured above) assembled themselves for the first time in Arlington Community Media's Studio-A where, conducted by AHS Music Drector Tino D'Agostino, they proceeded to heat the studio air with scorching hot jazz selections, now playing on the ACMi Public channel. ACMi staff was greatly impressed by the group's musical talent and hopes our Arlington viewers enjoy the show as much as it did.
