The DC Collaborative team wishes you a Happy Thanksgiving! We are thankful for the inspiring education programming in the arts and humanities that is taking place city-wide and positively impacting the education of our students. Most of all, we are thankful for the educators who work within their schools to ensure that students have access to these opportunities.
Before you go on holiday break there are some opportunities for you and your students.
This edition of the Key Communicator Newsletter contains:
AFES Experience Surveys! Please give us feedback to help us improve our programs.
The DC Commission's "Celebrate the Creative Spark!" Initiative. Apply by December 18!
Kennedy Center/Stephen Sondheim "Inspiring Teacher Awards." Apply by December 13!
As part of the commitment to the growth and improvement of our programs, the DC Collaborative is collecting feedback on our Arts for Every Student (AFES) field-trips through a brief online survey. We want to make sure that we are providing events of the highest quality and ensuring smooth logistics for the AFES learning experiences we provide to your school.
All schools that complete 100% of their Fall AFES Experience Surveys will be entered to win a gift card to Plaza Art Supplies.
The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities (DCCAH) will offer arts workshops as part of a month-long celebration of the arts during National Arts in Education Month in March 2016.
These workshops will take place in DC Public and Public Charter Schools across all eight wards of the city, and will reflect the process-driven activities done in arts classrooms that build the creative skills of students.
