This issue of the Key Communicator Newsletter will get you ready for online Arts for Every Student (AFES) registration on Monday, September 8th in celebration of Arts in Education Week. Remember this system is first come first serve and the demand exceeds availability. If you do not get a trip or your first choice trip on launch day, we often add opportunities during the school year and will make every effort to ensure you get a learning opportunity for your students.

Dozens of our world-class cultural organization members are offering free Arts for Every Student and Professional Development learning events this school year and are featured in the catalogue above. We look forward to working with you to ensure your students and colleagues have access to these opportunities!

AFES Teacher Appreciation Event
Educators and administrators are invited to save 15% and sip
mimosas at Anthropologie on 9/6.
When: Saturday, September 6, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Metro Center (Orange/Blue/Silver/Red lines)
Gallery Place (Green/ Yellow/ Red lines)
The DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative and Anthropologie are kicking off the new year with a get-together especially for teachers and administrators.
Teachers will enjoy a light brunch including mimosas, croissants and muffins and receive a 15% discount on full price and sale items. They will also get VIP treatment as they shop, with a special dressing room section.
All educators must bring a valid DCPS, DC Public Charter School or University ID to receive the discount.
Teachers may also contribute to the butterfly sculpture by writing their hopes and dreams in arts and humanities education for DC students.
Come out and join us as we celebrate a wonderful start to a new school year! Thanks to Anthropologie for hosting!

AFES Sign Up Instructions and Reminders
Registration for the fall is September 8th at 8 a.m. Remember this system is first come first serve and the demand exceeds availability. If you do not get a trip or your first choice trip on launch day, we often add opportunities during the school year and will make every effort to ensure you get a learning opportunity for your students.
Registration Directions for AFES field trips:
- Go to www.dccollaborative.org.
- Click on "Arts for Every Student Events" on the right hand side of the home page.
- Click the date of the program that you wish to select.
- Select the full amount of tickets needed (including chaperone tickets) from the drop down.
- Note: If the program is full it will say "Sold Out" or "No Tickets Available."
- Fill out the form with your name, email and school.
- Select grade level(s).
- Fill in reservations per grade.
- Click "Register."
