Thank you to our wonderful community for making this year's La Entrada Used Book Fair a great success!
With your kind donations, we sold $6,200 worth of books for which our La Entrada PTA receives 100% of the proceeds! We would like to give special thanks to our volunteers who helped roll, sort, sticker/price, organize, move, display, and sell the thousands of donated books.
We were also able to give books to La Entrada and Las Lomitas teachers (core, elective and resource), our library, the City of Menlo Park Library (via Friends of the Menlo Park Library) and classrooms in the Ravenswood School District. The LEUBF is so wonderful in that it includes recycling, reusing and reading for so many.
Please continue collecting box tops during the holidays!
Don't forget that your everyday online purchases can also help our school. Please visit the box top website and designate La Entrada as the school you wish to support. Then, every time you shop online, as long as you enter through the Box Tops web page, a percentage of your purchase will be credited to our school. Please check for the various participating products. Every coupon is valuable and worth 10 cents. Please submit your box tops in a small ziplock bag with your child's full name and core teacher to the school office. There will be a cereal box there for collection.
The classroom that collect the most Box Tops by March 1st , will earn an Ice Cream Class Party!! You can even have friends, grandparents, families, office staff, etc. collect Box Tops and bring them in to raise money for our school. We will keep tallying the coupons every week, so please send them as you collect.
Thank you!!

We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We are certainly fortunate to live in the extraordinary Las Lomitas Elementary School District, with its 30-year legacy of dedicated community support for high quality education. Thank you so much to all families who have already contributed to the Annual Giving Campaign!
It is now the Season of Giving. The annual LLEF gift to our District is simply fundamental and essential to the achievements of our schools and students, and if you have yet to make your gift, please donate now!
The parent volunteers of LLEF have been working hard for months to raise the vital money upon which our schools rely. The first LLEF Phone Appeal will take place next week - but we certainly hope you will donate before then, and save us the call!
As a reminder, we need to raise $2,000 per student, with 100% participation, to reach our fundraising goal of $2.8 million.
It is critical that every family contribute. If you can't give at the requested level, please give an amount that is meaningful and comfortable for your family. Every donation counts.
And if you can, please GIVE MORE this year -There are still funds available to double the increased portion of your gift with a dollar-for-dollar match from the $200,000 Challenge Grant.
PLEASE DONATE TODAY!

Order your Holiday Cards and do all your online shopping through the Foundation's Online Shopping Portal. Click-through to any of the online stores and shop as you normally would... the retailers donate a portion of every purchase to the Foundation. It's free money for our schools!
Inquire about your employer's matching gifts program to increase your donation to the District. Our Matching Gifts Coordinator can help you determine if your company will match your contribution.

California YMCA Youth & Government offers the Model United Nations (MUN) program for 6th-8th grade students.
What is MUN?
California YMCA Youth & Government offers the Model United Nations (MUN) program, which began in 2001. Middle school students, called Delegates, participate in the statewide program with their peers. While engaged at the YMCA, they are given the opportunity to discuss international issues, discover other cultures, develop life enhancing skills, and make new friends. The five-month program culminates when Delegates from around the state meet at the YMCA's annual Model United Nations Summit in Los Angeles, California.
When & Where is MUN?
MUN is hosted regularly at the Ross Road Palo Alto YMCA. Meetings start Thursday December 4th 6:30-7:30 p.m. and will have regular hourly meetings at that time every week. Within the hourly meetings we do ice breakers to get to know each other, have public speaking activities, research our countries, and prepare for our two conferences. No work should be assigned outside of the meetings in an attempt to facilitate a student's busy schedule, and all research necessary should happen during our meetings.
If you have any additional questions, please stop by our first meeting, and we can provide you answers with any questions you have. You may also email Ahmad Fayad or call him at (650) 704-6248.
