Foods that Make you Feel Lethargic :(

Did you ever wake up in the morning feeling completely rested and as soon as you eat something you just want to crawl back into bed? New research from UCLA points to the fact that eating sugary, processed, and high-fat foods can actually cause tiredness, a lack of motivation and decreased performance. That is why eating a diet that consists of foods with a low glycemic index can help you maintain your energy throughout the day. On a scale of 1-100 most of these foods are higher than a 70.

Golden Grahams
Plain Bagel
Corn chips
Watermelon
Honey
Mashed potatoes
Saltine crackers
Graham crackers
French fries
Frozen waffles
Vanilla wafers
Grape-Nuts Flakes
Jelly beans
Pretzels
Rice cakes

By keeping a food journal and marking down how you actual feel during the day, you can see a pattern forming with certain foods you may be sensitive to and may need to avoid on days you just don't have time to feel tired. It's a great way to really get to know you inside and out.

Have a workout date instead of cocktails once a week and you could stave off a 14-pound weight gain over a year. Try a brisk group stroll to catch up on current events while burning calories (about 400 an hour).
